On October 25th, Princeton Charter School hosted its first chess tournament of the academic year. Twenty-four students participated overall, including seven who were in their first chess tournament. Winner of the Open division was Matthew Danielson, who emerged victorious in a three-way playoff with Rishi Rajendran (2nd) and Jay Yalamanchili (3rd), all of whom had scored 3.5/4 points. Top places in the other divisions were as follows:
U1000: Alexander Roth, Daniel Yedidia, Manus Kreike-Martin
U700: Saumya Malik, Lincoln Roth, Harrison Max
U300: Maria Kaminska, Nora Kreike-Martin, Wyatt Zetterberg
Congratulations to all participants! Future PCS Chess tournaments for the 2008-09 academic year will be held on November 15, January 24, February 21, March 21, April 25, May 16, and June 6..
